I don’t watch hardly any television but happened to catch the pre-game shows of the Superbowl on Fox and was pleasantly surprised to hear them read the Declaration of Independence. While I greatly admire the work that Ron Paul has done getting our country back to our Constitution it strikes me that the Declaration Of Independence was much more the “revolution” than the Constitution was. They are both great documents but the declaration of freedom and the right to throw off chains of oppression that was brought forth really stirred me like never before.
Since then I’ve been dwelling on what I heard and the thought occurred to me how de-centralized everything was designed to be by the Founding Fathers. Except for one thing – money., everything from having a decentralized militia to the decentralizing of power through the three branches of government really demonstrates their desires and intent to have a government “of the people and by the people” as decentralized as possible. It would seem to be a logical conclusion then that if they had had technolgy available like Bitcoin that enables the decentralising of money Bitcoin would have been our national currency.
So we can proclaim Bitcoin as if it were the Liberty Bell itself to those around the world seeking freedom. We can wrap it in the words on the Statue of Liberty –
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
